1.Legal right to work and reside - U.S. citizen, permanent resident, federal immigration-issued work permit, or employer-sponsored work authorization.
2.Certificate of Relief from Disability – If the applicant has a felony record, they must obtain a Certificate of Relief from Disability from the court to apply. A felony is a more serious crime than a misdemeanor. New York criminal law classifies crimes into felonies and misdemeanors.
Many licensed occupations require applicants to have no felony record. If an applicant has a felony record, they must apply to a New York criminal court for a Certificate of Relief from Disability or obtain an executive pardon.
1.Age requirement - Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
2.Language requirement - Currently, the New York State qualifying exam is available in multiple languages including Chinese, and English proficiency is no longer mandatory. Candidates may request a test in their preferred language upon entry. However, the school still recommends that students have sufficient English for daily communication.
